Gear List and reviews
I have been loyal to Nikon cameras over the past two decades. The versatility of Nikon DSLRs has served me well in capturing stunning wildlife photography in the past. I now use a Nikon Z6ii and a Nikon Z8 mirrorless camera body. I supplement these cameras by using GoPro and DJI products to further enhances my ability to explore different angles and perspectives in my work.
I use mirrorless cameras for wildlife photography because they are lightweight, silent, and very versatile. While it is true that photography is not solely reliant on the equipment used, having the right tools can undoubtedly enhance the quality of the images produced. Starting with shorter focal lengths I have gradually progressed to an 800mm PF lens. . Additionally utilizing a 24mm-70mm telephoto lens for close-up work showcases a versatile approach. I intend to acquire macro lenses to replace the use of extension tubes on wide-angle lenses that i’ve made do with so far. Investing in quality photography equipment is essential to elevate your craft. While a smartphone can capture decent images, specialized tools can significantly enhance the quality and efficiency of your work. Constantly seeking out new equipment to improve your capabilities is a key aspect of evolving as a wildlife photographer. Experimenting with different lenses, camera bodies, and accessories allows you to push the boundaries of your creativity and produce stunning photos that truly capture the essence of the natural world.
